About the Workshop

We crave deep connection and true presence of being, and yet, we are too often pulled away by external forces or by the stories spinning in our minds.  How do we access all levels of our creativity so that we can fully inhabit our bodies?  Join Jessica and brenda in this two-part Breathe & Write workshop series, which celebrates two vital ways our bodies express how we experience the world - through voice and movement.  We will be joined by two special guest facilitators who will help guide us into these creative modes.  You can register for individual workshops, or both together, at a discount.  To ensure a safe and intimate experience, workshop size will be kept small. Register today!

Breathe, Write & Voice • 11.17.2023 Friday 4:00-6:00PM @ Tokyo Saiken Tea House

To voice means to express through words, utterance, or song.  The first in this two-part Breathe & Write workshop series will focus on voice.  Andersen, a classically trained stage opera singer, will guide you through a series of exercises that will help you find your true voice - not simply by using your vocal cords, but all parts of your body, opening up channels to create more space for vibration and projection.  Accompanied by a simple grounding meditation and a reflective writing exercise, this workshop will give voice to your true self.

Facilitators: Andersen, brenda, Jessica

Breathe, Write & Flaunt  • 12/8/2023 Friday •  4:00-6:00PM @ Jas Dance Studio

Even though we rely on our bodies in a myriad of ways to move through the day, we often forget to really live in our bodies, we forget how much creativity is physically stored in our bodies.  The second in our two-part Breathe & Write workshop series will focus on movement.  Katie, a dance teacher of __ years, will guide you through a series of exercises that will help you find your voice through movement.  Her infectious energy will give you the confidence to find new ways to express yourself through stretching, flowing, and a little bit of dance.  Accompanied by a simple grounding meditation and reflective writing exercise, this dynamic workshop will give voice to your physical self. Please dress in comfortable clothes and shoes and bring a water bottle and towel.

Facilitators: Katie, brenda, Jessica
